Crafting Excellence, One Project at a Time

Premium Metalwork & Custom Fabrication Services

In a field often dominated by a deeply impersonal and often frustrating customer experience, we strive to put the person first. We may be building a railing or a set of stairs - but we see that as secondary. Our primary goal is to serve you and provide a positive customer experience. We do this by:

  • Providing time and attention to discuss style and material options that will fit in your custom taste and budget.

  • Taking pride in our work, with care and attention to detail that are apparent in the final product quality.

  • Communication far above and beyond industry standards - We know that communication is critical to a positive customer experience. Thats why you will be able to access up-to-date progress of your project through our online portal.

Our Mission

To provide unparalleled craftsmanship in custom metal fabrication while delivering an exceptional client experience defined by communication, transparency, and attention to detail.

Our Story

MetalArc was founded by craftsman David Dufficy La Rosa in 2020. But its roots stretch back more than a century to rural Ireland, where David’s great-grandfather worked as a blacksmith in a tiny village in Lismehy, County Roscommon. He eventually emigrated to America - prior to World War I - where he earned his citizenship in the U.S. Army before settling in Denver to start a family.

David’s grandfather later took up the same trade, learning ironworking and welding while serving aboard a P.T. Tender in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. After the war, he helped start two welding businesses - first with his father and brothers, and later with his children. Dufficy & Sons, Inc., which would come to be known as Central Denver Ironworks, left an indelible mark on the Denver cityscape, with contributions including RTD transit shelters and pedestrian bridges, the railings at Coors Field and Park Meadows Mall, several art installations in the Denver International Airport, and the iconic Speer Blvd. bridge crossing the Platte River near the REI Flagship store downtown. The work of the Dufficy family can also be seen in parks and picnic shelters around Denver, as well as in more than a dozen other states across the country. After 45 years in business, Central Denver Ironworks closed its doors in 2021, with the retirement of the Dufficy siblings - including David’s mother.

As a fourth generation American metalworker, David is proud to carry on a rich family history of craftsmanship, creating beauty and enduring quality with steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and brass. That rich heritage is not only evident in the integrity of the products MetalArc creates, but in the integrity of character displayed by providing honest, reliable service to each customer, striving to serve clients and meet their needs with the highest standards.
